About anagram maker names
An anagram uses every letter of a word or name exactly once to spell something new. Writers use name anagrams to hide who a character really is, players use them as aliases, and they make a fun twist on your own name.
The maker checks your letters against 40,000 real first names and surnames. It shows single-name anagrams first, then two-name pairs, and fills in with scrambles that still read like names when real ones run out.
How to choose anagram maker names
Type a full name: more letters give far more two-name anagrams.
Leave out a middle name if you get too few results, or add one if you get none.
Use the Starts with and Length filters to find an alias of a given shape.
Frequently asked questions
Are the anagrams real names?
The first results are. They come from a list of 40,000 first names and surnames that people actually have. The last ones are letter scrambles that only sound like names.
How many letters can I use?
Up to 30. Two or three words of normal length work best.
Why do I get only scrambles?
Some letter sets do not spell any listed name. Try adding or removing a middle name or a letter.
Are these anagram maker names free to use?
Yes. Use them anywhere, without credit or sign-up.
Can I add numbers or change how the names are written?
Yes. In Filters, Add numbers puts 1 to 4 random digits or a year at the end, at the start or on both ends. Letters switches to lowercase or UPPERCASE, and Starts with and Length narrow the list. Copy and save keep the changed version.
