About game names
Strong nouns and evocative adjectives define this naming style. Short, punchy words make these titles easy to remember. Many examples rely on contrasting concepts such as light and shadow or metal and bone.
Studio names tend to be more abstract or structural. They frequently use single words or two-word combinations involving geometric shapes and natural elements. This creates a sense of stability and professional identity.
How to choose game names
Test how the name sounds when spoken aloud during a presentation.
Check if the title remains readable in small fonts for app icons.
Avoid names that are too difficult to spell or pronounce.
Frequently asked questions
What style of words make a good game title?
Use concrete nouns and action verbs. Short, two-syllable words often create the most impact for mobile or indie titles.
How can I create a name for a game studio?
Combine a technical term with a natural object. This approach builds a professional yet creative brand identity.
Should my game name include genre keywords?
Including genre hints can help players understand the gameplay immediately. However, abstract names allow for more flexibility if you change your project direction.
Are these game names free to use?
Yes. Use them in games, stories, campaigns or projects without credit or sign-up.
How many game names are there?
The generator draws from all 1,108 names, and each click picks a new random batch.
Can I filter the game names?
Yes. Open Filters above the names. You can also ask for names that start with one of 20 letters. Lengths run from 6 letters (Forage) to 25 (Whispering Pines Sanitarium), and you can pick short, medium or long names or an exact length such as 14 letters.
Can I add numbers or change how the names are written?
Yes. In Filters, Add numbers puts 1 to 4 random digits or a year at the end, at the start or on both ends, so a name becomes something like Silver Strand17. Letters switches to lowercase or UPPERCASE, and Join words writes multi-word names as one word, with an underscore, a dot or a hyphen. Copy and save keep the changed version.
