How to use the d&d class wheel
Press Spin for a random class from the 12 in the D&D 5e rules. The result shows its hit die and the ability it relies on most, which tells you where to put your highest score.
Set Classes to Spellcasters or No spellcasting to narrow the choice. Spin it together with the D&D race wheel for a complete random character, or tick Remove the winner after each spin so a party of players all get different classes.

Frequently asked questions
Which classes are on the wheel?
Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock and Wizard: the 12 classes in the 5e System Reference Document.
Which classes count as spellcasters?
Bard, Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock and Wizard cast from 1st level; Paladin and Ranger gain spells at 2nd level. Barbarian, Fighter, Monk and Rogue have no spellcasting of their own.
What does the hit die mean?
It sets how many hit points the class gains per level, from d6 for Sorcerer and Wizard to d12 for Barbarian.
Can I give every player a different class?
Yes. Tick Remove the winner after each spin and each class leaves the wheel once it is taken.
Can I roll a whole random D&D character?
Spin this wheel for a class and the D&D Race Wheel for a race, then roll ability scores with 4d6kh3 in the Dice Roller.
Is there a printable class wheel?
No. This is an on-screen wheel. Full screen shows it well on a shared screen at the table.
Does the wheel include subclasses?
No. It lists the 12 base classes only. Roll the subclass yourself when your table lets you choose it.
Are newer classes such as the Artificer included?
No, only the 12 classes of the 5e System Reference Document. Add others in Edit the entries.
What does the main ability in the result mean?
It is the ability the class relies on most, for example Strength for a Barbarian. Put your highest score there.
Which class is easiest for a new player?
Fighter and Barbarian are often suggested, because they have few choices to track during play. Ask your DM if the table has advice.
Can the wheel pick a class that fits a role?
Set Classes to Spellcasters or No spellcasting to narrow it down. There is no filter for tank or healer.
